Setting

Welcome to Halpomendebt!

A small coastal city tucked in The Islands of Midway Atoll!

The volcanoes are no longer active and the land has been artificially expanded to the size of Hawaii since the 1800s during the Chi-Infastructure Revolution. The land is connected to neighboring islands and Pacific states using the Pacific Friendship Bridge.

Although outdated looking, Halpomendebt is like a time capsule stuck between the 1800s and early 1950s, providing a new yet nostalgic mix to the locals and rare occasions of tourists.

Despite being overshadowed by big cities, Halpomendebt is known not only for its crippling debt but...strange legends.

What is Chi?

In this strange alternate world, Chi is known as a magical gift from the four gods given to humans millions of years ago.

These gifts consist of the ability to control the earth, ice, combustion, and fuse.

However, in today's age, only three gifts are present.
Why?

Chi Lore

Millions of years ago, people who possed the Fuse gift had the power to create anything out of thin air. Of course, this required a lot of energy which would result in extreme hunger for nutrients.

And normal food wasn't enough nutrients, instead human skin was more satisfying....

So to save humanity, the three other gifts eliminated Fuse to ensure humanity's future.

A future where the Chi-Infrastructure Revolution would create new lands for humanity to thrive.

Chi in The 21st Century

After millions of years, the existence of Chi seems to be slowly dying out. As you know, people aren't breeding with their siblings to make a powerful Chi-baby anymore. Plus not everyone has magic in this universe.

Of course, since bloodlines can get complicated, some people can inherit Chi even if their parents don't have it! (Maybe Grandpa fucked too much)

Chi isn't even used as often in today's society because smartphones are the in thing! But some often doubt the existence of Chi gods, it almost seems too out of this world...
